We are looking for a Chief Operation Officer

VASKI GROUP OY is a fast-growing new company that recently acquired Pivatic. The combined businesses have close to €30m turnover and are world leaders in machinery for flat bar processing and coil fed sheet metal processing systems We have two sites, one located in Seinäjoki focused on flat bar processing, sheet metal blanking, slitting and custom metal working machines and is growing at an exceptional rate. Whereas the other site in Hyvinkää is focused on coil fed punching and bending machines and will be turned into a growth business.  We are searching for a Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) reporting directly to the managing director and a member of the senior leadership team, with leadership and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. The COO will lead our team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive and effective. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within our industry, preferably on an upward trajectory in their career until now. This position is based at our Hyvinkää site but regular travel to Seinäjoki is required.

Objectives of this role

·       Collaborate with the CEO in creating and setting operational strategy to align with the group vision;

·       Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organisation wide goal setting, performance management and annual operations planning;

·       Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building an inclusive culture that ensures team members thrive and organisational goals are met;

·       Ensure compliance with international, national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary.

Responsibilities

·       Analyse internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement;

·       Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short and long terms objectives developed with the CEO;

·       Dynamic management of factory fast paced expansion supporting the build of new state of the art factories near to Seinäjoki and Hyvinkää in aid of this;

·       Manage and optimise companywide resources;

·       Oversee operations ensuring the efficiency of the entire production process;

·       Ensure the quality and effectiveness of project management and delivery services;

·       Collaborate with other executives to align operational goals with overall business strategy to deliver on the financial and non financial targets;

·       Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Cost, Lead time, On-time delivery, Morale and Environment;

·       Coach and develop the team to ensure they deliver against key business metrics;

·       Look for methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits and improve controls.

·       Work collaboratively with Sales and After Sales to create/develop systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the business and ensure excellent client experience.

·       Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts.

·       Build and maintain trusting relationships with key partners.

Required skills and qualifications

·       Five or more years of experience in leadership roles, specifically in manufacturing, or plant management in the metal industry environment. 

·       Excellent organisation and leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity;

·       Understanding of advanced business planning, HR and regulatory issues;

·       Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics;

·       Aptitude in decision making and problem solving;

·       Proficiency in Finnish and English.

Compensation
